Class 3

Class 3 is an exciting stage of learning, with children experiencing a wide range of new topics, skills and experiences throughout Year 3. We aim to provide a stimulating and supportive environment where children can develop their confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning.
The year offers many opportunities for children to build on their previous learning, explore new ideas and develop their knowledge and understanding across the curriculum. We look forward to supporting the children as they learn, grow and achieve throughout their time in Class 3.
Class 3 Routines
🏊 Swimming
Swimming takes place on Wednesday mornings during the Autumn Term.
⚽ PE
PE takes place on Friday afternoons. Children should keep their PE kits in school throughout the week. Kits can be taken home at weekends for washing if required.
📚 Homework
Homework is set on Fridays and should be returned by the following Wednesday.
📖 Reading
Children are expected to read at home and record their reading at least four times each week. Reading records are checked regularly, so please ensure that reading is recorded each time.
Useful Information
- Outdoor clothing: Children should have a waterproof coat in school throughout the Autumn and Spring Terms.
- Wellies: Children are welcome to keep a pair of wellies in school for wetter or muddier days. We aim to make the most of outdoor learning opportunities whatever the weather!
- Reading records: If your child forgets their reading record, they can record their dated reading on a separate piece of paper. This can then be attached to their reading record at school.
Communication
We value positive communication between home and school. If you have any questions, concerns or would like to discuss something relating to your child, please speak to a member of the Class 3 team. Our door is always open.
We look forward to supporting the children throughout their time in Class 3 and helping them to develop their confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
